Interactive Bonbons by Sam Ursu

From the Choice of Games library comes not one, but ten games!
If you wanna succeed, you gotta open your mind!

Who made it?: This game was made by someone named Sam Ursu.

Presentation: Unlike of Choice of Games adventures, this game has some Emojis and pictures for decoration. It also has some random sound effects that play throughout.

How to play: Like most of the other interactive stories I reviewed, this one is played with either the mouse or your finger.

Gameplay/Story: Because each game has its own story and gameplay, I'll be reviewing them all separately. One annoying note: Sometimes when you select a game on the online version, you'll have to wait 20 minutes before you can actually start playing.

  • Magic Infinity Cat: This is just a fortune teller game. You ask yes or no questions and see what the title character says. There really isn't much to it.
  • Snakes//Ladders: This plays just like those Snakes and Ladders games you played back in middle school: You and an AI opponent take turns rolling a die and moving up the board. You ascend the board when you land on a ladder and descend when you land on a snake head. There isn't much strategy to this game, just roll the rice and hope you win. It's not as fun as playing with human players, but it's not a bad game by any means.
  • Blackjack Mama: In this game you're playing Blackjack in a casino to get your mom a birthday gift. In each draw both you and your opponent get 2 cards and whoever gets closest to 21 points without going over wins that draw. You have to carefully determine whether you want to get more cards or hang on to the ones you have, not to mention bet your money carefully so you don't lose too much. This game is challenging for sure, but it's so rewarding when you do claim victory.
  • Punch-Punch Boxing: Here you're a newbie boxing working up the ranks. In the ring you can defend and throw either a regular or super punch. The match ends when either you or your opponent runs out of energy. There is a bit of strategy in deciding when to block and when to attack. It's not a very complex game, but it is a fun one nonetheless.
  • High Noon: Here you're a sheriff defending a Wild West town from outlaws. This is a classic Wild West showdown where you decide if you want to move towards or away from your opponent, shoot or duck for cover. There is a decent amount of strategy involved as you have to get close enough either arrest the outlaw or get a clean shot, but also have to be careful so you don't wind up with a bullet to the skull. Complicating things is the fact that you only have a handful of bullets to use, so use them carefully. This is a pretty fun game, especially if you like games with strategy involved. Just be warned it can be a bit difficult at times.
  • A Spot of Tennis: In this game you're in a country club playing tennis. This game plays differently from the others. Here you type in a box how many energy points you want to use for that move. Whoever uses more energy points wins that volley. There's a good bit of strategy to this game as you need to use more energy points whilst saving some for the next volleys. This is a pretty good game, and it isn't hard to pick up and play.
  • The Old Republican Card Game: Here you're on an alien planet the titular card game with the locals to earn enough money to fix your ship. This plays kind of like Blackjack, but with a twist. You have to get close to 20 without going over. You get a maximum of 5 cards per hand, and you must win 3 hands to win the prize. You and your opponent both get 4 special cards that you can draw at any point to add or subtract points. This is another somewhat challenging but nonetheless fun game that will get your brain juices flowing as you play.
  • Game of Pharaohs: In this game you're a Pharaoh back in the early Egyptian days playing an old Egyptian game called Senet against the King of Sudan. In this case your goal is to get all your tokens across the board from home base to freedom before your opponent does. You roll a die to determine how many spaces to move one of your tokens, you can choose which square to move your tokens and you can send your opponent's tokens back to home base (just be aware he can do the same to you). It's a slightly complicated game, but far from impossible and it's really good for those who love strategy board games.
  • Stab the Assassin!: This plays kind of like a text based, single player version of Among Us. Here you play the commander of a space station that is on lock down because one of the crewmates has been infected by something called the Wumpus Fever. At first you just observe your crewmates for signs of the virus, but after a while you get to stab whoever you suspect is the infected. This game is fairly suspenseful, and it does help stimulate your brain as you try to guess who the infected is. However, it can be a bit boring when nothing's happening.
  • Charles & Edward Have a Fight: In this game you're babysitting two kids and trying to end an argument between them. You can either be caring or firm in your approach. As much as I hate hearing people argue, I will say this is a surprisingly sweet game. It feels nice helping to end the feud between the brothers.

Final Verdict: This game can be challenging at times, but it is nonetheless a really fun and rewarding game that requires some real thought to succeed at. Just be prepared to do something else when the loading screen or whatever it's called comes up.
