Come with me if you want to live! |
Who made it?: This game comes to us from a little studio called Porcelain Fortress.
Story: Much like the Chrome Dino and Edge Surf games, this is a retro-style that is built into a web browser and available to play even when your computer isn't connected to the internet. Unlike those games, however, there is actually a story here. Evil robots attacking the city and its up to Vivaldia to take them down.
Presentation: As I said before, thig game has a cool retro-style to its graphics, reminiscent of old 80s computer games. It also has a nice little song that plays throughout, which is kind of like a techno version of Hall of the Mountain King.
How to play: The controls are pretty simple: You use the arrow or wasd keys to move, jump and duck, the n and m keys to fire the gun in multiple directions and the spacebar to start the game.
Gameplay: This a really fun and well made game, but it ain't an easy ride. It isn't too bad at first, but before you know enemies start flanking you at all sides and you find yourself dealing with a bunch of smashers, pits and other hazards. It isn't the hardest game I've ever reviewed (we're not talking about Pause Ahead or Haunted House Candy Hunt here) but it's still really rewarding when you finally do beat it. As much as I like this game, there is something I don't like about it: There's no pause button. That wasn't a problem with the last 2 games I reviewed as those were endless runners and usually short, but this is a long and hectic game with an end goal.
Final Verdict: All in all, this is a game I recommend playing at least once if you have the Vivaldi browser. Just be ready to make a commitment if you do decide to play it, as victory does not come easy.
