Chrome Dino by Chrome UX

Holy extinction! Google Chrome is the home of the last living dinosaur on Earth, and it only comes out when your internet is down (or you type this address into your address bar: chrome://dino/ or click here for non Chrome browsers)!

How many velocimiles can you go?

Who made it?: This game comes to us from Sebastien Gabriel, Alan Bettes, and Edward Jung.

Story:  Here you play a little T-Rex running through a dessert and avoiding cacti and pterosaurs as long as possible. Instead of a story, there is a goal: earn the highest score you can before you hit something.

Presentation: The game looks like it came right from the Commodore 64 days, with its retro style graphics and black and white color pallet. There is no music in this game, just some beeps when you jump and one when you get a game over.

How to play: The controls are very simple: On mobile devices just tap the screen to jump. On computers with keyboards press either up or space bar to jump and down to crouch or fall faster.

Gameplay: Like an arcade game from the 70s, this game is very simple yet addicting. All you do here is dodge cacti and pterosaurs for as long as possible. It starts out easy, but the game gets faster and faster as you progress. In addition, the colors start invert after you get 700 points and alternate between the pallets as you go further. That doesn't really affect gameplay but it looks pretty cool.

Final Verdict: That's really all there is to it. This game isn't the most complex or complicated in the world, but it isn't trying to be. It's just a fun little diversion you can play while you wait for the internet to come back on.
