Robot Wants series by Hamumu Software
Hamumu Software brings us a fun little series about a lonely robot seeking a friend.

There are 4 games in this series. Your goal in the first game is to acquire a cat from within a labyrinth. In the second game, you bring the cat along as you try and get a dog from a laboratory. The third game sees you leaving both animals behind as you travel through a mine-like area in search of a goldfish. In the fourth game, you part ways with the cat and bring the dog with you to Ice Cream Planet.
The games feature an awesome retro art style and some fantastic retro music. They play like metroidvania games, where you travel across a single map in search of power ups, keys and your goal while at the same time avoiding or fighting enemies. You start out defenseless in each game, but as you progress you get some nifty weapons (you fire laser beams in the first game, throw your cat and have it claw enemies to death in the second, throw bombs in the third and go back to laser beams in the fourth) as well as other abilities like double jumping, flying, swimming and other things depending on the game.
If you love retro games, this series is right up your alley. Even if you're more into first person shooters or fighting games, I highly recommend you try these games out. On a side note: Robot wants Kitty has a iOS port that you can download and play on the go. Not only that, there is a Steam version that combines the entire flash series plus 1 new adventure into 1 set for release.
