Haunted house by Armegalo
On a site full of gory shooters and scary point n click adventures, sometimes you just want something that's a bit more suited to all ages.
In this game, you enter a house to escape a terrible rainstorm. Armegalo's fictional house isn't your average everyday house, however. This house is full of ghosts, pretty big spiders and floating scrolls with some fascinating information in them.
The art style is very simple, but quite enjoyable nonetheless. There isn't any music, but there are eerie sound effects that I think add a nice touch. As indicated by the screenshot above, the controls are extremely simple. What separates this from most other Newgrounds content is the educational aspect. The many scrolls you read will teach about ghost hunting, mummification, medieval medical practices and even black holes among other things.
I quite like this game. Sometimes you just want a simple game and this one has the added benefit of teaching you various horror-related stuff. I say give it a go if you have the time.
