Rocket Jump by Bitwrit
Here's a little something for your Independence Day. P.S. I know this was posted the day after the Fourth of July.
Bitwrit's little adventure stars the Soldier from TF2. He has to rocket jump his way through a maze while avoiding instant kill spikes and collecting hats. Try not to blow yourself to pieces.
This game has a pretty cool 8-bit style to both the graphics and music. It even has an 8-bit version of Rocket Jump Waltz. The game uses both the wasd keys for moving and the mouse for aiming and firing. Like its name states, you main method of getting past obstacles is to launch rockets at your feet to launch yourself great distances. As you progress, the various challenges become more difficult to traverse. Sometimes you'll have to rocket jump off the walls repeatedly, while other challenges force you to rocket jump under a low ceiling. As expected, you lose health as you rocket jump, but fortunately your health regenerates when you aren't taking damage.
Personally, I like how this game takes a feature found in most FPS games that have explosive weapons and turns it into you main way of progressing. Launching yourself great distances with a rocket launcher never gets old. You outta give it a try, especially if you're a fan of Team Fortress 2.
