Caverns of Blood by Patcdr
Will you be able to reach the Cave of Jewels? Come on down and find out! Warning: This game contains blood and dark themes. Viewer discretion is advised. Update: The original link is dead, but luckily the creator, Patcdr, made a mirror that's available here.
Our latest review will be covering the Caverns of Blood game. The goal of this game is to traverse several different caves until you can reach the Cave of Jewels. This isn't a flash game. Instead, this is the first virtual haunted house I've reviewed.
The game has an early 90's internet look. Each page is littered with many different images, ranging from demon heads to flies to axes. There isn't any music playing on any of the pages, though you do get some nice MIDI music files while traversing the caves. Going from one level to the other is quite challenging. More often than not, the link to the next cave is well hidden within the page.
Final conclusion: The game is pretty fun. Sure, the cluttering of small images gives the game a kinda dated feeling, but it makes up for it with a delightfully dark story, many different themes to enjoy and some brain teasing puzzles. Plus, if you do reach the Cave of Jewels, you can download an animated image like the one above to put on your website. If you like creepy games, I recommend you give this a shot.
