The concept to Exploding Rabbit's smash hit is simple: Bowser has captured Princess Peach for the thousandth time and Mario has to save her. This time, however, Mario isn't alone. Link, Samus, Simon Belmont and numerous other NES all-stars are here to help.
Because of its nature, this game uses sprites and music from the NES library, especially Super Mario Bros. Each character has his or her own set of abilities based on what game they came from. For example, Link can stab enemies with his sword, Simon can whip enemies, Ryu can throw ninja stars and climb walls, and Mega Man can fire long range projectiles. Playing this game on Exploding Rabbit yields more features, including the ability to change how the game looks, 2 difficulty settings and a new set of stages from Super Mario Bros. Special.
This game is awesome. It just feels great to play through the original Super Mario Bros. with a different hero and it does a good job capturing the nostalgia of playing NES games. If you love retro games, what are you waiting for?
