Cyberspace by Ironcommando

The many shaped ships are gonna rumble tonight!

From the maker of great M.U.G.E.N characters like 20000 and A-Bomb!

Who made it?: This game was made by Ironcommando, a Singaporean dude best known for his cheap M.U.G.E.N characters.

Story: There isn't a story here. You're just playing a ship fight against other ships in what I assume to be cyberspace, hence the game's name.

Presentation: This game has a unique look comprised of isometric shapes of all colors. I'd also comment on the music, but there is none. Heck, there isn't any sound in this game at all.

How to play: This game uses both the mouse and keyboard to control. There's instructions under the flash window, but I'll put them here anyways.

  • WASD keys move your ship.
  • Shift temporarily makes you phase out of reality, which means you turn intangible but can't attack.
  • Q turns the homing missiles on or off (why you'd want them off is beyond me).
  • E turns your ship around.
  • Spacebar does two things: holding it unleashes a rapid fire stream of green projectiles, while tapping it fires off a due of red piercing lasers.
  • Mouse button does two things: Clicking it fires a small white laser at wherever the mouse is located, while holding it makes you ship fire blue bombs at the mouse's location.

Gameplay: This game plays a lot like any space shooter you've played before, except there's no powerups but in exchange your health regenerates when you're not getting hit by enemy fire. The game features a decent size variety of enemies each with their own attacks, some of which are really hard to dodge. For what looks like an unfinished demo made by just one guy (at least I think, I really couldn't anything about this game online), it's not that bad a game. It is missing a few things (namely a life bar, title screen and game over screen), but otherwise it's a decently made space shooter.

Final Verdict: While it's not the best space shoot I've ever played and yes it could've been better, it's still fairly good for what it is. Also something funny I noticed: When you die, the game keeps going instead of cutting to a game over screen, and when you press Shift your ship returns in a sort of purgatory state where it can't die, but it also can't shoot or move.
